Meet the iGel Cat Eye Multi-Angle Pro Magnet, a versatile nail art tool featuring a stylish wooden body and three uniquely shaped magnets. Designed for use with our 3D Cat Eye products, it features a round/cylindrical magnet, a rectangular magnet, and a flower-shaped magnet, each offering a different way to manipulate magnetic pigments and create distinct Cat Eye effects.
How Does It Work?
Cat Eye gel polish contains fine magnetic particles that respond to the magnetic field produced by a magnet. While the polish is wet, hold a magnet near the nail to move the particles and shape the design. This creates areas of shimmer and contrast, giving the finished look its depth and movement.
Cat Eye Application Steps:
- Apply a thin coat of iGel Base Coat, then cure under a UV/LED lamp for 30 seconds.
- Apply one coat of Jet Black Gel Polish, then cure again. (A black gel polish base is applicable for 3D Top Cat Eye and LB Supernova 10D Cat Eye only; applying a black base or a different colored base is optional for 3D Cat Eye and 3D Mood Change Cat Eye, depending on the design you'd like to achieve.)
- Apply a coat of Cat Eye polish of your choice.
- Use the iGel Cat Eye Multi-Angle Pro Magnet to achieve the best possible sharp effect. Move the magnet around until satisfied with the design.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 as many times as you'd like to get your desired look, then cure under a UV/LED lamp.
- Finish off with iGel No Cleanse Top Coat, then cure for the last time.
NOTE: All the Cat Eye polishes have almost the same instructions - you can also repeat steps 3 and 4 as many times as you'd like until you get your desired look, or completely omit step #4 for the "Velvet" trend!
Proper Storage Guide
Heat can cause magnets to demagnetize, while humidity can cause magnets to corrode; hence, the iGel Cat Eye Multi-Angle Pro Magnet must be stored in a cool and dry place, away from sunlight, and at a stable room temperature.
Frequently Asked Questions
"Can this product be used on a regular gel polish?"
This magnet works with Cat Eye gel polishes that contain magnetic pigments. Regular gel polish without magnetic pigments won’t create a cat-eye effect. For best results, use it with compatible iGel Cat Eye products.
"Why am I having difficulty creating the Cat Eye effect?"
Several factors can affect the appearance of your Cat Eye design, including pigment distribution, application technique, magnet positioning, and the condition of your magnet. For better results, try the following:
Start by checking the strength of your magnet by testing it on a small metal object and see if it makes any attraction. If the small metal object does not respond or if the attraction is very weak, your magnet may have already lost its strength, and another magnet tool may be needed.
Once you've verified that there are no issues with your magnet, you may attempt to warm your Cat Eye bottle by soaking it in hot water to activate the magnetic ingredients that may have settled on the bottom of the bottle. It is also recommended to shake the bottle gently and roll it over your palms to mix the ingredients well before each use.
Additionally, make sure that the magnet is as close to the nail as possible. Depending on the design and contrast you are trying to achieve, hold the magnet down for a second or two to control the polish effectively.
"How do I restore a magnet that has lost its strength?"
If you notice reduced magnetic performance, check whether the magnet has been exposed to excessive heat, physical damage, or other conditions that may affect its performance. For the best results, avoid exposing your iGel Cat Eye Multi-Angle Pro Magnet to extreme temperatures or physical impact.
If your magnet has weakened due to mild heat exposure, cooling it could help restore some strength. However, if the magnet’s weakness is due to other factors, such as impact or misalignment of magnetic domains, cooling alone will not be effective. In such cases, re-magnetization using a stronger magnet would be more beneficial.
Please be advised that results may vary depending on the extent of previous damage, as some magnetic properties may be permanently lost.
