USPS Tracking Statuses Explained

This guide lists the common USPS tracking statuses and the recommended actions to take. Knowing these can help you better understand where your package is in the shipping process and what to do if there are any delays.

PRE-SHIPMENT / ACCEPTANCE

These statuses are usually displayed in the tracking timeline right after the label is created.

Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item / Info Received
  • What it means: The shipping label was created. The package has not yet been received by USPS.
  • Action to take: Kindly allow 1-3 business days for tracking to update.
Shipment Received, Package Acceptance Pending
  • What it means: A postal facility received a container or pallet of multiple packages (including yours), but processing has not started. The package is waiting for an official acceptance scan.
  • Action to take: Kindly allow additional processing time for the acceptance scan (usually, 1-5 business days). If no update after 5-7 business days, kindly contact us.
Accepted / USPS In Possession of Item
  • What it means: USPS has received the package and will begin processing for transport. It is on its way.
  • Action to take: Kindly continue monitoring your package's tracking.

MOVING THROUGH NETWORK

These statuses indicate how the package progresses through sorting and distribution facilities before reaching its final destination city. Tracking updates may pause while the package is in transit.

Arrived at USPS Regional Origin Facility
  • What it means: Your package reached the first USPS facility, and will begin moving through the network toward the destination.
  • Action to take: Kindly continue monitoring your package's tracking.
Arrived at USPS Facility / Processing at USPS Facility / Departed USPS Regional Facility / In Transit
  • What it means: The package is currently being sorted or transported to your delivering post office. These types of tracking scans may appear multiple times from the same facility and/or on different days as it is traveling between facilities.
  • Action to take: Kindly continue monitoring your package's tracking. Additional tracking information will be displayed when the package is out for delivery.
Forwarded
  • What it means: The package is being forwarded to a different address. This is due to a change of address request or because the package is at the wrong post office for delivery.
  • Action to take: Kindly monitor your package's tracking. It's still on its way to you.
Arriving Late
  • What it means: The courier experienced a transportation or processing delay. This may be due to several factors (weather-related issues, inaccessible roads/addresses, scanning issues, processing slowdowns, etc.).
  • Action to take: Allow additional delivery time. If no tracking movement after 5-7 business days, kindly contact us.

DELIVERY

These updates appear on the day your package is scheduled to be delivered.

Out for Delivery
  • What it means: The package has been prepared for delivery at your local post office and will be delivered by the courier within the day.
  • Action to take: Kindly monitor your tracking to follow your package's journey.
Delivered
  • What it means: The package has been marked as delivered with a recorded date, time and delivery location.
  • Action to take: Please check your mailbox, porch, parcel locker, garage, areas protected from weather/out of street view, household members, or with your neighbors. If you're unable to locate your package, we encourage that you to give the courier a chance to deliver your package within the next 3 business days in case there was an error with the delivery scan. You may also contact your local post office to inquire about your package's whereabouts.

If after doing these, you're still unable to retrieve your package, kindly contact us.

Available for Pickup
  • What it means:  The package cannot be delivered, and USPS is holding the package at the post office.
  • Action to take: Pick up your package from your local post office (use Postal Locator to find your local post office). If picking up, you must show valid photo ID.

Note: If you don't claim the package within the time limit, USPS will return your package to us, the sender.

DELIVERY EXCEPTION / ATTEMPTED

These happen when USPS encounters an unforeseen situation that delays or prevents the delivery of the package.

No Access to Delivery Location
  • What it means: The courier couldn't access the delivery area. Common reasons are: a vehicle blocking your mailbox, loose dog or other animal interference, address is in a gated community or locked building we could not get into, public utility work, or emergency responders.
  • Action to take: Kindly check the area for anything that might block delivery access to your home or mailbox. USPS will automatically reattempt delivery the next business day. If no update after 3 business days, kindly contact us.
Notice Left (No Authorized Recipient Available / No Secure Location Available)
  • What they mean:

No Authorized Recipient Available: The package requires a signature and no one was available to sign for it. The carrier should’ve left a PS Form 3849 Redelivery Notice.
➤ No Secure Location Available: The courier did not see a secure place to leave the package and returned it to the Post Office. There will be no automatic second delivery attempt for the package.

Note: If you don't claim the package within the time limit, USPS will return your package to us, the sender.

Redelivery Scheduled
  • What it means:  A redelivery was scheduled before the package is returned to the sender.
  • Action to take: Kindly continue monitoring your package's tracking.
Returned to Sender Alert Status
  • What it means: USPS could not complete the delivery due to several reasons (incorrect address, recipient moved, delivery refused, unclaimed package, insufficient postage, etc.)
  • Action to take: If the tracking timeline currently shows an "Alert" status, it's likely that your package is still with your local post office and the RTS process has yet to begin. In that case, you can attempt to intercept your package by contacting your local post office and picking it up. We recommend taking an immediate action, as it will be much quicker than going through the entire RTS process.
Insufficient Address / No Such Number / Attempted - Not Known
  • What they mean: The package is being returned to the sender.

Insufficient Address / No Such Number: Some part of the delivery address is missing, incomplete, or incorrect and the package can't be delivered.
Attempted - Not Known: The courier tried to deliver the package, but the indicated recipient is not recognized or does not live at the indicated address on the order.

  • Action to take: Please contact us, and if you wish to have your order reshipped once it’s received at our facility, kindly provide your complete shipping address.

Note: Reshipment or restocking fees may apply.
