LB Halo Gel

What is LB Halo Gel?

A "halo" gel polish is a special type of gel polish that uses a unique formulation and application technique to produce a stunning, shimmering, and often holographic effect on your nails. While it’s not a particular brand name, it beautifully describes the eye-catching visual style and the products that work together to create it. Our LB Halo Gel colors are designed to give you the most amazing rainbow holographic effect, all while boasting an incredibly high-gloss shine!

Characteristics

  • Shimmering Effect: Halo gel polishes are known for their ability to produce a subtle dazzle, shimmering appearance, often with multiple colors and/or iridescent elements.
  • Holographic Effect: Halo gel polishes are formulated with special pigments that create a holographic effect, meaning the color shifts and changes depending on the angle of light.
  • Flake-Based: Halo gel polishes sometimes feature a textured finish created by small, reflective flakes or particles embedded within the polish. These flakes can be various in sizes and colors, adding to the overall visual impact.

Application Steps:

  1. Prepare the Nails: Perform cuticle care and gently buff the nail surface.
  2. Apply Base Coat: Apply a thin layer of base coat and cure using your UV/LED lamp.
  3. Apply LB Halo Gel Color: Apply a thin layer of your chosen LB Halo Gel color, cure, and repeat as desired.
  4. Apply Top Coat: Apply No Cleanse Top Coat, and cure.

Removal Steps:

  1. Buff the Top Coat: Lightly buff the top coat layer until it gets cloudy.
  2. Soak Off the Gel: Apply a soaked cotton pad with acetone, wrap with foil, and leave for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Remove the Gel: Gently push off the gel using a stick or cuticle pusher. Repeat if needed.
  4. Finish: Lightly buff the surface for a smooth finish and apply cuticle oil to hydrate the nails.

Frequently Asked Questions

What could be the reason if the LB Halo Gels are looking dull or not reflecting enough after application?

  • Incomplete Curing: Not curing the gel long enough or using a faulty lamp can leave the gel under-cured, resulting in a dull finish.
  • Thick Application Layers: Applying thick layers can trap uncured gel underneath, creating a cloudy or dull look.
  • Incompatible or Missing Top Coat: Using a matte top coat or skipping the top coat can diminish the reflective effect.
  • Contamination: Dust, oils, or debris on the nail surface can interfere with the gel’s reflective properties.
  • Buffing: Overbuffing, especially after curing the top coat, can reduce shine and affect the gel’s finish.

Where is the shimmer/glitter of our LB Halo Gel made of?

LB Halo Gel consists of ultra-fine, reflective shimmer particles that create a smooth, prismatic finish. The effect is achieved using high-quality, light-reflective materials that provide a luminous look without a gritty texture.

What is the difference between Halo/Holographic Gels and Reflective Gels?

Halo/Holographic and Reflective gel polishes both offer a unique shine, but they achieve it in different ways. Halo/Holographic polish creates a rainbow-like effect by scattering light and displaying a spectrum of colors, while Reflective polish produces a mirror-like, metallic sheen by reflecting light as a single color.

What is the difference between glitter and shimmer?

Shimmer and glitter both refer to a shiny, reflective effect, but they differ in their particle size and overall appearance. Shimmer has finer, more delicate particles that create a subtle, soft glow, while glitter has larger, chunkier particles that produce a more intense, dazzling sparkle.

Key Differences:

  • Particle Size: Shimmer particles are smaller and more finely milled, while glitter particles are larger and more noticeable.
  • Effect: Shimmer creates a softer, more natural-looking sheen, while glitter creates a more dramatic, sparkling effect.
